At RPA Engineering, we are proud to celebrate Erik Peterson’s achievement of earning his Professional Engineer (PE) license in Control Systems, which is a significant milestone that reflects his deep expertise and our shared commitment to delivering high-quality engineering services.
With a degree in Electromechanical Engineering from Penn State, Erik brings a well-rounded technical background to RPA’s multidisciplinary environment. As a Controls Engineer, his work sits at the intersection of mechanical systems, electrical infrastructure, and process operations. One of the defining strengths of a controls engineer is adaptability. From control system design to system retrofits, his experience spans metals, chemical, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical environments, demonstrating his ability to navigate diverse processes and facility requirements.
For Erik, the most rewarding part of engineering comes at the moment when design becomes reality.
As a controls engineer, I get to see the inanimate collection of electrical equipment, mechanical equipment and steel and concrete foundations come to life and do the thing it was designed to do, correctly and safely. Seeing, hearing and feeling a large motor make its first spins during commissioning is one of the best feelings in the world.

His passion for working alongside site subject matter experts, learning the intricacies of each process and finding ways to improve it, embodies RPA’s commitment to partnership and continuous improvement.
Earning a PE license in Control Systems is a rigorous accomplishment that underscores technical proficiency, accountability, and leadership within the engineering profession. This milestone not only reflects individual achievement but also strengthens RPA Engineering’s ability to support complex, integrated projects with confidence and precision.
We congratulate Erik on this well-earned accomplishment and look forward to the continued impact of his expertise across our projects and partnerships.
