Job Description
RPA Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Mechanical Engineer to lead and support projects for metals and industrial manufacturing clients. This role is responsible for developing practical engineering solutions, managing assignments from investigation through design and implementation, coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary project teams, and ensuring deliverables meet established quality, budget, and schedule requirements. The successful candidate will be a self-directed, collaborative professional with strong technical judgment, communication skills, and a commitment to responsive client service.
Education & Experience
Required
- BS Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of experience related to design, specification, fabrication, and purchase of capital equipment for the metals industry
- Proficient experience utilizing AutoCAD software
- Demonstrated knowledge of current code and standards.
- Mechanical engineering and design experience in areas such as machine design, hydraulics/pneumatics, dust collection/industrial ventilation, industrial/process piping and supports, combustion.
- Metals industry experience, including but not limited to:
- Aluminum Making Processes, such as Melting/Holding/Casting, Scalping, Hot and Cold Rolling, Extrusion, Leveling, Heat Treating, Slitting.
- Steel and Titanium Making Processes, such as Electric Arc Furnace Melting, AOD/VD, Continuous Casting, Ingot Casting, Hot and Cold Rolling, Leveling, Heat Treating.
- Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM)
- Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR)
- Electroslag Remelting (ESR)
Preferred
- Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) licensure.
- Pipe stress calculations and analysis using software tools.
- Experience using Revit, Plant3D, and Inventor/Solidworks experience is a plus software.
