Salary: Commensurate with experience. Target salary range $100K-$140K, annually.

Job Description

RPA Engineering is seeking a Project Engineer, to provide full-time onsite support at Materion, one of our world-class industrial clients. The role provides onsite project management support for Materion’s Global Engineering projects and activities and will be responsible to leverage engineering expertise and tools in the delivery of capital projects from conceptual design to project completion. Projects have a range of complexity, from facility upgrades to installation of new process equipment and utilities, to safety improvements and more.

Education & Experience

Required

  • BS Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or similar).
  • 2-3 years of experience supporting capital and major maintenance projects for Metals manufacturing facilities.

Preferred

  • Experience with design, qualification and commissioning of lab and/or production equipment.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, systems and technologies.

 

Tasks, Responsibilities, and Utilized Skills

  • Work closely with Project / Program Managers, operations leaders, engineers, and manufacturing team members to deliver projects on-time and on budget with the discipline and tools using internal formalized project management process.
  • Manage multiple projects that impact multiple facilities. This is a hands-on role that will require effective interfacing with suppliers, customers, and OEMs, as well as cross-functional teams that may be global in makeup and responsibility.
  • Provide project engineering and management, managing project costs, project scheduling, and pertinent communication, for multiple and wide-ranging engineering projects that may vary in terms of scope and responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the execution of capital projects including completion and/or oversight of detailed design, coordination, and oversight of construction activities, and managing action items and associated follow-ups.
  • Support new product initiatives and work as part of a cross-functional team to define capability, scope, and capital investment required to implement.
  • Works with Operation, T&I, Procurement, EHS and OEM’s to properly specify, procure, accept, install and validate T&I and Production capital equipment.
  • Managing and communicating all appropriate information, including project status reports, in a timely manner and fashion to the necessary people within and outside the organization.
  • Strong communication and team skills necessary in working with equipment suppliers, contractors and in sharing project information with internal departments.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills to effectively contribute to executing projects.
  • Possess analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Understand and analyze process systems and equipment, while using data to drive decisions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
