Salary: Commensurate with experience. Target salary range $75K-110K annually.
Job Description
RPA Engineering is searching for an Electrical Designer, responsible for electrical design of power distribution and control/instrumentation cabling for heavy industrial and commercial projects. The electrical designer will be responsible for producing electrical panel schedules, cable and conduit schedules, cable tray and conduit designs, grounding plans, schematic and wiring diagrams.
Education & Experience
Required
- Associates Degree or Certificate Program or Licensed Electrician.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in all aspects of electrical and controls design for industrial and commercial projects.
- Experience with the design of low and medium voltage power distribution systems.
- Proficient in use of the National Electrical Code, NFPA-70.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Proficient with MS Word and Excel.
Preferred
- Experience in Metals manufacturing / industrial plant environments.
- Fossil/Gas Power Plant design experience.
- 35KV and above distribution design experience.
- Lighting design experience.
Tasks, Responsibilities, and Utilized Skills
- Prepare and/or modify electrical single line drawings, sketches, bills of materials, electrical panel schedules, control wiring diagrams, schematics and wiring termination drawings, and conduit/cable tray routing.
- Travel to client facilities (in-state and out of state) and perform site surveys of electrical equipment (Switchgear, MCC’s, power distribution, electrical and control rooms) electrical panels, manufacturing, and process equipment.
- Cable and conduit sizing and material selection for power distribution, and control/instrumentation cabling.
- Construction management, review contractor and vendor submittals.
- Ability and willingness to work additional hours on projects as required to achieve clients’ deadlines.
- Great attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and driven to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of working independently and within a team framework.
- Sensitive to client’s needs and demands as well as project budget and schedule.
