RPA Engineering has conducted an evaluation of the transmission of airborne disease within various types of building structures as well as a review of the current technology used to minimize this transmission. Ultimately, our intent is to answer these three questions:
- Is your existing building helping or hindering the spread of bioaerosols?
- Can existing buildings be easily and economically modified to aid in the reduction of bioaerosol transmission or is this more applicable to the design of new building systems?
- If only a singular mitigation strategy is utilized which is the best value?
To develop our opinion on the above, our efforts were divided into three distinct investigations which included the study of bioaerosols, an evaluation of how they are spread in buildings, and an evaluation of the current technology landscape.
